We constantly strive to give our patients the finest dental care possible, and we understand that our investment in advanced technology leads to better dental outcomes. We use a variety of dental technologies described below.

Digital X-rays
X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems. Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problematic can save you money in the long run. At Dr. Musto Periodontics & Dental Implants, we use digital x-rays, which have several advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5th the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.
Large on-screen x-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.
Cone Beam CT Scan
Dental Cone Beam CT. Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Dr. Musto uses this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan. Read more about the importance of Cone Beam technology.
LANAP Laser Treatment
Most cases of gum disease go untreated. Despite the dramatic negative health risks that are linked to gum disease, people who have it often go undiagnosed. It is linked to premature birth, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, so it is most definitely a condition that should be taken seriously and treated immediately. Until recently the only options available for the treatment of gum disease have been invasive and potentially painful. Fortunately, we here at Dr. Musto Periodontics & Dental Implants have made LANAP® (laser-assisted new attachment procedure) available to our clients! Read more about LANAP Laser Treatment.
FAQs
What is CAD/CAM technology and how does it benefit dental procedures?
CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) technology allows dentists to create precise dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and veneers, in a single visit. This advanced system enhances accuracy, reduces turnaround time, and eliminates the need for messy impressions. Patients benefit from same-day restorations that fit comfortably and look natural.
How has technology improved the accuracy of dental diagnosis?
Advancements in dental technology, such as digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and 3D imaging, have significantly improved diagnostic accuracy. These tools provide high-resolution images that allow dentists to detect issues like cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer in their early stages. This leads to more precise treatment planning and better overall patient outcomes.
What are the benefits of using a dental laser?
Dental lasers offer a minimally invasive alternative to traditional tools for procedures like gum disease treatment, cavity removal, and soft tissue reshaping. Benefits include reduced discomfort, faster healing times, less bleeding, and a lower risk of infection. Many patients appreciate the increased comfort and precision that laser dentistry provides.
